Unlock Unlimited Identities in Ghost Browser

One of the most common questions we get is: How many Identities can I have in Ghost Browser? The short answer? As many as you want!

Unlike other multi-session browsers that restrict how many profiles you can create based on your pricing tier, Ghost Browser imposes no artificial limits on Profiles, Workspaces or Identities in its premium plans. Our free plan allows up to three Identities, but once you upgrade, you’re only limited by your computer’s resources.

The Power of Unlimited Identities

Managing multiple accounts across different platforms shouldn’t come with limitations. With Ghost Browser, you can create and use unlimited Identities – literally hundreds of them – in a way that keeps your system running smoothly. Unlike competitors that launch 15 different profiles into windows scattered across you monitor at once, Ghost Browser optimizes performance by allowing you to keep Identities organized and only open what you need.

This has a positive impact on your ability to control CPU and RAM. And you can get even more fine grained by choosing when tabs load through the built in “Quick Tabs” extension.

If you’re juggling dozens or even hundreds of accounts, the real question isn’t “how many Identities can I create?” but rather “how many do I need open at the same time?” Here’s how to make the most of Ghost Browser’s unlimited Identities while keeping your system efficient:

Smart Identity Management with Workspaces and Profiles

Profiles work the same as they do in Chrome.

Ghost Browser is designed to help you work efficiently without overloading your system.

You can leverage Workspaces and Profiles to set up as many Identities as you want. Maybe you need to be logged in to many accounts but don’t need the tabs all open at once.

If that’s you, you can use Workspaces to logically separate your tabs. Just group them in sets of 25 or less in a way that makes sense to you.

You just need to think about your workflow and resource needs. Take a few minutes to read through the next four steps. These questions are designed specifically to help someone who has dozens of Identities and/or Workspaces think about the best way to organize their work in Ghost Browser.

  1. Do you need multiple Workspaces open at the same time?
    • If so, you will be using Profiles to achieve that.
    • Set these up first and think about how you will organize different workspaces into Profile.
    • Most Ghost Browser users use just a single Profile.
  2. Next, add Identities for each profile you created.
    • You can have as many as you want in each profile.
    • Identities will stay within the Profile you create them in.
  3. Next, create Workspaces based on the tasks you will complete.
    • Add one Workspace per client
    • Add one Workspace for your regular tasks.
    • Add one Workspace to prioritize your tasks into work for today, this week, this month.
    • You know your workflows best and Workspaces help keep you organized.
  4. When organizing your Ghost Browser experience, remember that you can open any permanent Identity in any Workspace within that profile and cookies are still shared across that Identity. It is the ultimate in flexibility.

Other Workflow Considerations

To have multiple Workspaces open at the same time, you need to use Profiles. While switching between Workspaces is fast and easy, consider if you want to have multiple Workspaces open simultaneously and plan accordingly. Large monitors and multiple monitors offer ultimate efficiency here.

To optimized resource usage, stick with fewer profiles running at a time. Multiple profiles are considerably more resource intensive than running just one, but most modern machines can easy handle as many profiles as your monitor set up can.

Unlike competitors that load all Identities simultaneously, Ghost Browser gives you control over when and how they run, ensuring a smoother, less resource-intensive experience. Each Identity is still always just one click within one browser window.

Workspaces for Logical Separation – Workspaces let you group Identities into organized sets of up to 25 or fewer. This keeps things neat while preventing unnecessary resource consumption. Since the number of Workspaces is unlimited, you can have 25 * infinity Identities set up at once without all of them taxing your resources at once! is – how many are open at once? What and how many extensions do you have running? What else is running on your computer?

But did you know that you can hack Ghost Browser’s multiple profiles and Workspaces feature to have virtually unlimited Identities?

Multiple Profiles and Workspaces Hack

The trick is to use multiple Workspaces or multiple profiles, if you need to. Which method you choose depends on whether or not you want them both to be open at the same time.

If you do need them all open at once, you can do that too. Simply open multiple profiles (see the image to the left) and voila, you will have as many Sessions as you need.

This works particularly great if you have multiple monitors.
